So excited to offer some new artwork this week, and three of these are much different than my usual work (yay for variety!)
1. "Purple Summer" was taken a few years back during the Pandemic on a simple stroll through our neighborhood. I worked tirelessly on this edit to get the tone perfect. For me, it screams "Summer in Southern California". You can almost feel the beating sun as it washes over the Purple Fountain Grass (did you know that's what this was? I sure didn't!)

2. "After the Fire" - After the fire is an emotional journey once you hear the backstory: Taken in 2020 during a visit to the Irvine Regional Park, my wife and I noticed several acres had been damaged by the latest rounds of wildfires to hit the state during COVID. The leaves were starting to come back on this tree, and I found the barren branches against the blue sky created a nice contrast. When a bird landed in frame, I knew the story was complete. After tragedy, people have to find a way to survive and move on.

3. "Ocean Crash" - Taken in Venice Beach, CA a few years back (pre-pandemic), I got lucky with the waves crashing against the rock and the bird flying over head attempting to pass through. I love the contrast between the darker rocks and the bright sky, and the water splatter looks terrific in black and white.

4. "Summer Stroll" - Santa Monica, CA -- A lovely candid on a perfect summer afternoon in Southern California. One of my favorite compositions in my collection. The woman framed perfectly, plus the natural line that is formed splits the image in half diagonally which adds a natural, unexpected symmetry to the photograph.
