"Arizona" is a diptych that features TWO of my favorite images I've ever captured. What makes them so special and worthy of being limited editions? Well, they are truly the first moments that I have ever captured that were created using this particular combination of camera, lens and filter. You will not find any other images like these in my store; they are truly one of a kind.
Fifteen years ago, my father passed on to me several lenses of his from the 70s and 80s, one of which is a Minolta 28mm prime lens that, although I've used before, I hadn't EVER used on my newly-acquired Sony A7IV.
The other element that was new to me was using a filter on the lens. My late Uncle, Tom Allen was a wildlife photographer, butterfly expert, biologist, writer, and a painter (whew). When he passed away from cancer several years ago, he left behind a lot of camera equipment and accessories to my Aunt Sandy, some of which ended up in my possession. One of these items was a Canon "85b" filter. Before my trip to Phoenix, I screwed it onto my Minolta, looked through the viewfinder, and snapped a few shots.
The incredibly rich and warm tones SCREAMED "desert" and I knew I had to use it on my trip. This lens and filter combo never left my digital camera. These images are the FIRST EVER shots I've ever taken using a lens filter.
